MLB power rankings

espn.com

John Kruk's MLB power rankings say that the Philadelphia Phillies are the number one power ranking team and the Yankees are in second. In third place Kruk has the Colorado Rockies. In fourth place he has the Texas Rangers (which really surprised me) and the Cleveland Indians in fifth. ESPN.com's power rankings is exactly the same except that the Marlins are in fifth.

Yanks NEW lineup

Alex Rodriguez is not in the Yankees lineup again tonight. We're assuming it's the same sore left oblique and lower back injury that kept him out on Sunday, but no official word yet.

We'll hear more from Joe Girardi at 5:15.

Here's the lineup:

Jeter, SS
Granderson, CF
Tex, 1B
Cano, 2B
Swisher, RF
Chavez, 3B
Posada, DH
Martin, C
Gardner, LF
--
Burnett, RHP

Brewers need twelfth to take down the Phils

The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Phillie sin a 12 inning game. This was the first Phillies game this year that took more than three hours.

The Phillies came into the ninth inning trailing the Brewers 3-2. The Phillies Pete Orr hit a single to left field which scored Carlos Ruiz all the way from second base.

In the tenth inning the Phillies closer Jose Contreas pitched 123 inning but in the bottom of the inning the Phillies couldn't score.

In the eleventh inning still nobody scored which sent it to the twelfth inning and the runs just all came pouring in and they pulled Contreas after the first run and Kyle Kendrick gave up two runs.

The Phillies started out the inning with a single by Shane Victorino. Next up Placido Polanco who had a great night so far he was 2-4 coming into this at bat. Then he flied out to the right fielder then Rollins got on first because of an error by the second basemen. Then Ryan Howard popped out right into the shift and Ben Francisco grounded out to end the game.

With out Billups

Chauncey Billups of the New York Knicks is injured and the Knicks expect he will not play in the Knicks game.

Billups was an injured when he was driving for a lay up and he was fouled. He fell to the ground and had to be pulled from the game. He sat on the bench for the rest of the game.

If the Knicks are with out Billups for the rest of the series, it would give the Celtics the advantage in the series.
