Snider came into the league in the year 1947 and retired in 1962. Snider was born on September 19 1926. He was in two world series - 1952 and 1955. The only one he won was the 1955 world series over Joe DiMaggio and the New York Yankees.
One of the players Duke Snider played with was hall of fame manager Tommy Lasorda, who said "I was Duke's teammate and I looked up to to him with respect." Tommy Lasorda was a pitcher on the Dodgers in some of Duke's best seasons.

I was born in 1946 in Brooklyn, and grew up a Yankee fan, but Duke was always a favorite of mine.....he played the game hard and always to the best of his ability......rest in peace Duke.
