Philadelphia opening day walk off

The Philadelphia Phillies win their opening day game against the Houston Astros.

The Phillies Phillies lead off hitter of the ninth inning, Jimmy Rollins lead off the inning with a single off of Lyon in relief of Brett Myers. Then, Ryan Howard hit a single and he was the batter after Rollins.

The Phillies came into the ninth inning trailing 4-2. The Phillies rallied back and tied it. Then the bases were loaded and John Mayberry Jr. was at the plate. Mayberry hit a single over the leaping glove of the Astros center fielder Matt Bourn for a walk-off.

That was John Mayberry's first MLB walk-off.

  1. It was a blast to watch. John Mayberry Sr was in the stands and got to see his son bring the win home for the Phillies....one thing is for sure...the Phillies give their all for 27 outs and no one should ever give up on them! I'll be at the game tonight......Go Cliff Lee...Go Phillies!
