The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Mets again and if they do it again today they will complete the sweep.

For the first three innings it was all Mets. They took a quick one nothing lead in the first inning and tacked on another one in the third. Then an inning later the Phillies got on the board from a double by Ibanez. Four innings later Chase Utley got an RBI single and the Phillies evened the game at 2 a piece. In the same inning Ryan Howard hit a double to score Chase Utley and Placido Polanco. One inning later the Phillies tacked on another run when Ben Fransisco hit a double and Domonic Brown scored.

Cole Hamels gets the win and he improves to 7-2 and O'Connor gets the loss and his record drops to 0-1. Jose Contreras gets his first hold of the season and Ryan Madson gets his eleventh save.
